There’s always going to be an element of personal preference when choosing a build for your favorite character, butone of the best W-Engines for Nekomata is Steel Cushion. This is her signature W-Engine inZenless Zone Zero, which means it was made especially for her. Equipping it provides an immediate boost to Nekomata’s Base Attack as well as Crit Rate.

When put on an Attack Agent like Nekomata, the Metal Cat Claws ability is active. Not only will this increase Nekomata’s Physical Damage by 20% at base level, but it will also increase her Damage by 25% when attacking an enemy from behind. This is ideal for a speedy character like Nekomata, who should have no trouble giving enemies the slip by running and dodging.

Best Team For Nekomata In Zenless Zone Zero

Piper & Lucy Or Nicole & Anby

Two of the best teammates to use alongside Nekomata arePiper and Lucy. These two Agents both belong to the Sons of Calydon Faction, while Piper and Nekomata both share the Physical attribute, so everyone on this team will have their additional ability activated. In Nekomata’s case, that’s a 35% damage increase for her next EX Special Attack after Assault is inflicted on an enemy.

It’s also a good idea to have a Physical Bangboo on your team, such as Bangvolver or Amillion, to get the most out of Nekomata’s strengths inZZZ.

If you don’t have Piper and Lucy unlocked yet, another good option is to put Nekomata in a team withNicole and Anby. These two Cunning Hares Faction members are unlocked from the beginning of the game, so you don’t need to worry about pulling them from a Signal Search. All of them can activate each other’s additional ability, as they share the same Faction, while Nicole and Anby are great at setting enemies up to be attacked by Nekomata.

How To Play Nekomata In Zenless Zone Zero

Make The Most Of Her Attack Buffs

Nekomata is a fast-paced Physical Attack Agent who should be used as your squad’s main attacker to deal lots of damage at high speeds. You’ll want tounleash Dodge Counters or Quick Assists as often as possible, as both of these will activate Nekomata’s Core Passive, Stealthy Paws, providing a significant Damage increase for 6 seconds which can be invaluable.

If you’ve equipped Nekomata’s signature W-Engine, Steel Cushion, attempt to attack enemies from behind as often as possible to take advantage of the Damage increase it provides. Assuming you’ve teamed up with at least one other Physical Agent or a member of the Cunning Hares Faction, you shouldfocus on inflicting Assault, as Nekomata’s EX Special Attack will then deal extra Damage. This is where Piper comes in handy as a teammate, as they can work together to inflict Assault.
