Levi is not alone in thinking that Chalamet would be a good choice to play a live-action Flynn, with the young actor being among some of the most popular fan casting selections. In two of his most recent high-profile roles alone, Willy Wonka and Paul Atreides, he demonstrated his impressive acting range, which only becomes more extensive when including his performances inDon’t Look Up,Little Women,Call Me by Your Name, and other projects throughout his career.Chalamet’s range proves he has the charisma, not to mention the look, needed to play Flynn.

Chalamet’sDunecharacterand some other individuals he plays tend to be more serious, buthisWonkarole is arguably the best showcase for Flynn. While his iteration of Wonka is more naive than Flynn is, the young chocolatier is also energetic, charming, resourceful, and convincing, all traits that Flynn exhibits. Just as Chalamet would not be the first character to ever play Flynn, he was not the first to play Wonka, but he managed to put his own spin on the character while still retaining many of the core traits.
