I’ve tried multiple VPNs, each with unique pros and cons, but ExpressVPN stands head and shoulders above the rest. From speed to user-friendliness, here are all the reasons I suggest using this VPN over all its competitors.
1You Can Connect Up to 8 Devices Simultaneously
I useExpressVPNon my smartphone, tablet, and computer. Disconnecting from one each time I want to use another is exhausting, so I’m grateful ExpressVPN lets you connect as many as eight devices simultaneously.
Having used ExpressVPN across different operating systems, I’ve found a consistent user experience. Its apps are well laid out and easy to use, and I haven’t noticed significant changes to speed when I have multiple devices connected. While I use ExpressVPN just for myself, you could easily use it with your whole family.
2Its Servers Are Consistently Fast
The extra processing layer involved with VPNs can slow your internet connection, so I always consider speed when looking for different providers. Although by no means perfect, ExpressVPN’s servers are normally pretty (and consistently) fast.
I’ve tried ExpressVPN with servers around the world, including the UK, Japan, Germany, and the US. Regardless, it has always performed relatively well—even when streaming content and watching videos. Because of this, ExpressVPN is one ofthe best Netflix VPNs.

Though otherfast VPN servicesexist, ExpressVPN combines speed with other features I enjoy using.
3Good Value for Money
I pay $12.95 monthly for ExpressVPN with a rolling monthly subscription; I could save money by getting one of the longer-term plans, but I like having flexibility. With a six-month plan, I’d pay $9.99/mo; annual plans work out at $8.32/mo.
ExpressVPN’s pricing is comparable toNordVPN’scheapest subscription on a month-to-month plan, and it’s less expensive thanSurfshark VPNwhich starts at $15.45 per month. NordVPN’s other two monthly subscriptions are more expensive than ExpressVPN.
While ExpressVPN is still one of the more expensive options, I think you get good value for money.
4You Can Easily Get Your Money Back Before 30 Days
My current stint with ExpressVPN is actually my second. I previously used the 30-day risk-free period to try it out and compare my subscription to other services. I’ve spoken before that difficult cancelation is one of manysneaky VPN sales tactics, but my experiences with ExpressVPN were far from challenging.
To cancel my subscription, I had to contact ExpressVPN’s team via live chat. The team asked why I was canceling and if there was anything they could do. When I gave my reasons and was firm about not wanting to stay, the refund was processed, and I received my money soon after.
I always think that how a customer support team interacts with you when you want to cancel can be a big red or green flag. If someone’s trying too hard to keep me, it suggests that they care solely about money and little about the customer experience. Because I had a good experience canceling the first time around, I was more confident that I had made the right choice after signing back up for ExpressVPN.
5You Can Use a Password Manager Alongside Your VPN
You’ll find plenty of password managers out there these days, and I’ve previouslycompared Bitwarden and 1Passwordto see which is the best.Apple also released a Passwords appwith iOS/iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Nonetheless, I like to keep as much as possible in one place—and I’m glad that ExpressVPN has a password manager: ExpressVPN Keys.
ExpressVPN Keys makes it very easy to import your saved passwords from elsewhere. You can import from Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Opera. Moreover, ExpressVPN lets you import passwords from 1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane, LastPass, and other places.
When you import your login details, ExpressVPN Keys uses zero-knowledge encryption to keep your information safe. You can access your passwords and usernames by going to the Keys section in the ExpressVPN app.
Since you can connect up to eight devices simultaneously, you might want to use ExpressVPN Keys asyour family’s password manager. Besides passwords, you can add debit and credit cards and secure notes.
6Customer Support Is Responsive and Helpful
Besides making it easy to get your money back during the risk-free period, ExpressVPN’s customer support team has been very helpful whenever I’ve needed to use them before. For example, I wanted to contact them early in my second time using the app for some assistance setting things up.
ExpressVPN’s team is responsive and knowledgeable, and using the live chat feature is very simple. For these reasons, I think that ExpressVPN is one ofthe best VPN services. Another huge advantage is that the team is available 24/7, meaning that you should never have to wait too long before getting help.
Besides using live chat, you’re able to also get in touch with ExpressVPN via email.
7It Has Excellent Built-In Blockers
Servers are only one thing toconsider when using a VPN; plenty of otherimportant VPN featureswill improve your experience. ExpressVPN is blessed with some excellent built-in blockers.
I’ve used ad blockers elsewhere, but I don’t like how I sometimes get an inconsistent experience on mobile devices. This is not the case with ExpressVPN’s ad blockers. If you’re using the app with your family, you can also get the app to block adult websites you don’t want your kids to consume.
ExpressVPN also has blockers for trackers and websites deemed malicious. So, your data should be safer, and your device will hopefully be at a lower risk of experiencing a breach/cyberattack.
I should point out that you must be connected to ExpressVPN for these features to work. Nonetheless, they’re pretty solid from personal experience.
Despite trying multiple VPNs, I think that ExpressVPN is the best all-around option. Its internet speeds are consistent, and you can connect multiple devices at once. I also like how you can manage passwords within the same app. I strongly recommend trying ExpressVPN for at least the risk-free period.
