Unihertz Titan Slim may be the phone for those still upset about the BlackBerry 5G
A 5G BlackBerry phone was promised by OnwardMobility way back in 2020, but the companyconfirmed in Februarythat it wouldn’t be releasing the highly anticipated phone. Now, Unihertz is one of the few brands making QWERTY keyboard phones, and an announcement from the company has confirmed another is on the way soon. It’s called the Titan Slim, and the company plans to start a Kickstarter campaign for the handset in May.

We’re especially curious whether this phone will come with 5G connectivity. Unihertz has made 5G phones in the past, but it hasn’t yet included the technology on any of its QWERTY keyboard phones. This may be the brand’s best opportunity to pick up fans of physical keyboards, and especially now the BlackBerry 5G is confirmed dead. The Kickstarter funding method may put some fans off, but previous Unihertz handsets have been successful and delivered promptly.
Unihertz has made QWERTY keyboard phones before, the latest being theTitan Pocketfrom 2021. In the Android Police review of that phone, we said it was great if you wanted a physical keyboard, but the camera wasn’t impressive, and the screen was awkward for watching videos.
