Today’s Connections Category Hints
JULY 15 #399
If you want to see past the bluffs, the best way to do so is to understand what the categories actually are. There are a lot of ways that you can be tricked before you know them, but the categories provide a strong backbone to avoid being fooled.
BUY
TRUST
This one was fairly easy to ACCEPT, as most of the words had to do with TRUST and there were not many other words that could fit in that category. BUY was the biggest outlier and it still was fairly easy to put it in with the rest. Interestingly, despite that this was the third category we solved.
SHAM
SHOW
The words putting up a FRONT actually did mean to put up a “Facade” today. BLUFF and SHAM stood out amongst the other words, and trying to guess what other words belonged was easier once we had that definition in mind. SHOW was the last one to make it in, but that was mostly because we saw FRONT first. This was the second category we solved today.
10 Best Connections Tips, Tricks, & Strategies
Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
MOUNT
STAND
This was actually the first category we guessed today. BASE, BRACKET, and MOUNT were all fairly standard nouns that made us look a little closer, and STAND was identifiable as something similar once we had that in mind. We were a little surprised that this was as far down as it was, but maybe that is because the category seems a lot more specific than it had to be.
LITER
PINT
This was our last category and therefore a little easier than it could have been. All of them being sizes and nothing else having a measurement attached to it did help, and that would have been the thing to look for if you were trying to solve this before having anything else. However, we would not have guessed that these were all specifically liquor-related, as these sizes can refer to other bottled products.
