Filming, Locations, Release Date & More
The White Lotusseason 3 began filming in February 2024, after being delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023. Although the first two seasons were set in Maui and Sicily, season 3 will take place in Thailand, filming on-location at the Four Seasons resort chain, with additional locations to include Bangkok, Phuket, and Ko Samui. HBO head Casey Bloys predictsThe White Lotusseason 3 will premiere sometime in 2025, making for a three-year hiatus for the show.
In addition to a new location,season 3 will also feature an all-new ensemble cast. The season will be led by Bibb, Coon, and Monaghan, as seen in Goggins' photos. Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Christian Friedel, Scott Glenn, Lalisa Manobal, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Aimee Lou Wood are also set tostar inThe White Lotusseason 3. At this stage, their roles are unknown, though the season will reportedly include, among other parts, an actress, various parents, and a yoga enthusiast. The past two seasons had six and seven episodes, respectively, so season 3 could feature a similar number.
White has also indicated thatThe White Lotusseason 3 will be larger, so its episode count could exceed seven.
Fan-favorite character Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) is not expected to return, following her tragic death at theend ofThe White Lotusseason 2. While major plot details for season 3 are being kept under wraps, White teased that season 3 will be “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” Another beloved character from season 1, Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda Lindsey, will be returning.
