The Best Weapons & Modules

Utilizing weapons with Fire-based damage will do a relatively decent job, as Swamp Walker has a normal amount of resistance to it, butElectric-based damage leaves this boss extremely vulnerable, so this must be prioritized when changing your weapon attributes.

For the best firearms against Swamp Walker, the Tamer makes for an excellent, well-rounded performing option due to its high DPS, range, and ammo capacity. Another weapon to use is theExecutor, as its uniqueimpending Judgment ability electrocutes enemies while also increasing firearm ATK, which is perfect for an enemy weak to electric damage.

To improve the damage of your weapons, use the Electric EnhancementModule inThe First Descendantto strengthen your Electric-based attacks.

When customizing your Modules, several options exist, including theToxic Antibody, which should be raised to 2,600as a survivability measure. This enhances your resistance to Toxic attacks, which the boss will deal with a vast amount of. Another protective Module worth using is Increased Def, which boosts your overall Defense stat by a certain percentage.

The Best Descendant To Fight Swamp Walker

Of all the Descendant characters players can use,Bunny inThe First Descendantis the best option to go up against Swamp Walker, as he will be the most susceptible to her abilities.

How To Beat Swamp Walker In The First Descendant

Boss Abilities, Skills & Moveset

Before attempting to fight this green monstrosity, looking at Swamp Walker’s abilities and moveset will help you better strategize how to counter his attacks. The table below details his main attacks and protective measures players can take:

How To Counter

Gatling Guns

The boss targets a single party member with Gatling Guns on two of its claws.

Dodge sideways to avoid these attacks or hide behind the pillars scattered around the arena. The pillars will disappear when struck by the boss’s attacks, so use your Grappling Hook to swiftly change position.

Missiles

Swamp Walker will launch missiles from his head, targeting and tracking a single party member. This deals a lot of damage if it reaches its target.

Dodge forward, back, or underneath them rather than sideways to avoid one or more missiles hitting you.

AOE Explosions

Occasionally, the boss will launch a barrage of missiles that will explode on the ground, leaving behind Toxic AoEs. Unlike the Grave Walker fight, these missiles won’t be marked on the ground.

To avoid them, move out of the range of the missiles by going away from the boss.

Charged Blast

The boss will occasionally charge up two successive blasts, targeting the player.

Dodge to evade this attack or use the surrounding structures to block the force of the blast.

Frenzy

The boss will begin to glow green, indicating he has entered the Frenzy phase, becoming immune to all damage.

Focus on attacking his weak points, particularly his knees.

Swamp Walker Combat Strategy

Aside from his roster of attacks above, Swamp Walker’s main attacks consist of Toxic-based projectiles, whichcreate puddles on the groundof the arena that cause damage upon walking through them. Avoid these Toxin pools to prevent unnecessary damage, and consistently jump over them and use your Grapple to navigate the area.

Aside from the Toxic puddles, mind the red lava-like substance around the platforms of the arena, which will equally damage players who stand in it.

The boss also has several charged-base attacks, releasing a ball of Toxin that targets a party member. These attacks are relatively easy to dodge, but because many of them home in on targets, it may be best to use the surrounding structures to block them as a safety precaution.

Watch out for toxic gas released around Swamp Walker, which will damage all players caught in the vicinity and cause a toxic debuff to players. Stay as far back as possible, using your Grappling Hook to escape its radius until it disappears.

While he is incredibly tanky, Swamp Walker is equally slow, allowing you to deal quick, non-stop damage to this boss. He also doesn’t have a lot of armor to his structure, and another weak point that players should aim at is hisknees, which are fairly exposed, identifiable by the bright glowing green parts of his crab-like legs.

Players must prioritize hitting their weak points when attacking the Swamp Walker boss to bring the green beast down. To easily see which points you must focus on, you canpress Tab to highlight each area, allowing you to see and attack each component effectively. Upon destroying each part, followed by removing them, using your Grappling Hook to grab hold and momentarily stun him.

GuidingLightwarns players not to attempt to go underneath the boss, tempting as it may be, as he willuse his body to squat down and crush you. The YouTuber also suggests using Bunny’s Electric abilities to increase your damage output when charged up.

The Pulsing Lightning effect and the Laser attack deal incredible damage, especially when he is staggered, as players can use these skills uninterrupted. These abilities should be used whenever possible due to their effectiveness against Swamp Walker’s large HP bar.

Players must not forget or ignore Swamp Walker’s summoned minions named Roly-Polies. These enemies will spawn throughout the fight, and players get a heads-up for this by observing Swamp Walker’s bizarre summoning dance.

Take care of these creatures as soon as you see them, preventing them from swarming you. Killing these monsters as theydrop ammo, recover items, and give HP regen is also highly beneficial.

As with other bosses inThe First Descendant, Swamp Walker will enter a state of Frenzy, preventing him from taking any damage dealt by players. The boss will squat and root itself into the ground during this rampage.

He will then begin to use his turret, giving him 360-degree coverage, while each of his six crab-like legs will sprout a destructible canister. Use this time to go around andtarget these canisters, blowing up each one to end the Frenzy state.

This may be challenging for players, as Swamp Walkerrapidly rotates upon changing targets while in Frenzy. If you’replaying with friends inThe First Descendant, ensure you and all your teammates are circulating the boss together, destroying each Canister individually.

If playing in a party of four, the best strategy is to split into pairs to destroy the vials more efficiently.
