Summary

The Boysstar Valorie Curry shares that she hopes her character, Firecracker, meets a horrible fate in season 5 during an interview atSan Diego Comic-Con.Curry made her series debut in season 4as the manipulative supe who joins the Seven and becomes the face of Vought’s propaganda. Firecracker had a reputation for being prejudiced and using her public platform to espouse extreme conspiracy theories, which continued on a larger and more dangerous scale after becoming part ofHomelander’s team.

In an interview withScreen Rantat SDCC,Curry explained why she wants Firecracker to die inThe Boys' final seasonand how her behavior may change after the game-changing developments in the season 4 finale. Check out Curry’s comments below:

The Boys Season 4 Poster Showing Homelander with Victoria Neuman Surrounded by Confetti

I mean, I hope to see her dead. She has it coming from any number of people, but I’m really curious to see how Firecracker behaves from a place of desperation now that she realizes that she has very good reason to be afraid of Homelander. She realizes that she is as much a prisoner as she is empowered by Vought. It’s something she can’t get out alive now, and she knows that.

And this is somebody who, this character, you never know what she’s going to do next. That’s one thing you can count on with Firecracker. You have no idea what she will do next. And if season 4 was seeing her acting from a relatively empowered place, what does season 5 look like when, even though, ostensibly, she’s empowered, I think it’s actually there’s a lot more desperation in it.

She also shared withThe Hollywood Reporterthat"I hope it’s not because of the meds, because that seems too easy. It should be Sage (Susan Heyward), right? It should be Sage, and then she should survive and have a spinoff. I hope she dies.”

Does Firecracker Have Any Chance Of Surviving The Boys' Final Season?

She may be trapped from all sides.

All these threats and instability make it highly unlikely that Firecracker will surviveThe Boysseason 5, and her desperation may even be the cause of her demise.

As Curry highlights, Firecracker has her fair share of enemies, and even her allies are volatile, which will make it difficult for her to surviveThe Boysseason 5. Sister Sage was the one who brought Firecracker into the Seven, but only because Firecracker was useful to Sage’s grand plan. If Firecracker is no longer useful and becomes a liability to whatSage has planned for Phase Two,she will have no qualms about killing Firecrackeror letting someone else do it.

Firecracker made herself more valuable to Homelander by taking medicine that enables her to make breast milk, which Homelander craves due to his attachment issues, but the medicine has already begun to take a toll on her health. Madelyn Stillwell controlled Homelander in the same way, but this was not able to protect her in the end, with Homelander killing her after uncovering information she kept from him.Homelander is more dangerous than evernow that he isPresident of the United States of Americain all but name and will not hesitate to destroy Firecracker if it suits him.

With Firecracker revealing to the public that Annie January/Starlight had an abortion, information that was meant to be private,Starlight has her own personal reasons for striking back at Firecracker. As the face and mouthpiece of Homelander’s new regime, eliminating her also has tactical advantages for the Boys. All these threats and instability make it highly unlikely that Firecracker will surviveThe Boysseason 5, and her desperation may even be the cause of her demise.
