Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for The Acolyte episode 6

Summary

The Acolyteepisode 6 features a seemingly new, yet very familiar planet to one featured inThe Last Jedi. Due to some key teases within the episode on this mysterious world,The Acolytemay be pointing to the origins of the Sith themselves. Even if Qimir (Manny Jacinto) is eventually revealed to be something other than the true Dark Lords, it’s certainly possible that this newStar Warsshow is still offering new insights into the early Sith.

As seen inThe Acolyteepisode 6, Mae (Amandla Stenberg) leaves the planet Khofar with Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), having disguised herself as her twin sister Osha. Meanwhile, Osha has been taken to an unknown planet by Qimir who seemingly wants to make her his new acolyte. However, this new world in particular very much resemblesThe Last Jedi’sAhch-To, the site of the first Jedi Temple and eventual home to an exiled Luke Skywalker. However, it could also be connected to a key world from Legends at the same time.

Star Wars Movies In Order: How To Watch Release Order, Chronologically & With The TV Shows

What’s the best way to watch Star Wars? Here’s everything you need to know to watch in release or timeline order, and how to include the TV shows.

The Acolyte’s Unknown Planet Is A Mirror Of The Last Jedi’s Ahch-To

“Unknown Planet”

Waking up on a world identified only as “Unknown Planet”, Osha finds herself on an ocean world covered in islands with rocky beaches. Appearing to be the home of Qimir as his primary base of operations hidden away from the rest of the galaxy,it’s not hard to see the resemblances to Ahch-To, the planet where Luke went into exile after Ben Solo fell to the dark side, where he briefly trained Rey, and where he died giving his life to save the remaining members of the Resistance as seen inThe Last Jedi.

Some more key parallels are made toThe Last Jedibeyond the incredibly similar ocean worlds. The biggest example is Osha’s new clothes that very closely resemble what Rey wore inThe Last Jediand predominantly during her training with Luke Ahch-To(gray with open shoulders). Additionally, this world also has its own diminutive and cute creatures to mirror Ahch-To’s bird-like creatures known as porgs.

Has Star Wars Brought Us To Bal’demnic?

A Legends Planet Connected To Darth Plagueis

While the parallels toThe Last JediinThe Acolyteepisode 6 are numerous, this world may also be a key planet from Legends at the same time. After all, this “Unknown Planet” also carries similarities to the world of Bal’demnic, described as an ocean planet with rocky islands located in the Outer Rim. In the former Legends timeline pre-Disney canon,Bal’demnic was also the site where Darth Plagueis killed his master Darth Tenebrous. Likewise, they were on the world in the first placesearching for rare cortosis ore (the same metal used to forge Qimir’s helmet).

That said, it would also be exciting if this world is eventually revealed as an entirely new location yet also connected to the very first Sith.As such, this planet could be a dark inversion of Ahch-To as a mirrored world tied to their origins as dark-side usersseparate from the Jedi Order. While planets such as Moraband/Korriban were origins worlds for the first Sith, it’s possible that this new planet could hold some sort of key significance as well.

Like The Sith, The Stranger Comes From Among The Jedi

The Sith Were A Splinter Group From The Order

While the connections to bothThe Last Jediand possibly Legends with Darth Plagueisare exciting, it’s also fascinating to learn that Qimir was once a member of the Jedi Order before embracing the dark side.As such, this mirrors the origins and history of the Sith themselves, having splintered off from the early Jedi Order in search of new paths to wield the Force. As such, it would be rather poetic if this world where Qimir is based was connected to the early Sith, just as the planet it’s clearly modeled after is connected to the first Jedi.

Furthermore, the potential connections this world might also have to Darth Plagueis are just as intriguingand exciting as well. While Plagueis and his master Darth Tenebrousare part of the officialStar Warscanon, Bal’demnic and the events that occurred remained part of Legends. As such, perhapsThe Acolyteis preparing to make the planet and more elements of that original history canon once more as the newStar Warsreaches its final two episodes.
