I happened to stumble upon a certain multitasking feature some time ago while fiddling with my Samsung phone. This feature doesn’t have a dedicated menu in the Settings, so it’s easy to miss. However, it’s super easy to use and comes in handy more often than not, which is why everyone should give it a try.

You Can Open Notifications on Samsung in Pop-Up or Split Screen View

You might be aware that Android phones can open two apps simultaneously in a split-screen view. It’s one of manyAndroid features that can help you stay productive. You might also know that Samsung phones add to this multitasking capability by allowing you to open certain apps in a pop-up window, just like you do on your desktop or laptop.

However, you might not know that, on Samsung phones, you can long-press on a notification to drag and drop it on your home screen to open the corresponding app in either a pop-up window or split-screen view.

If you simply tap on the notification, the app will open normally and occupy the entire screen. This might not be ideal if you are already in the middle of something on another app. But, with this method, you may drag and drop the notification at the center of the screen to open it in pop-up view or on either side of the screen to open it in split-screen view.

You can freely adjust a pop-up window’s dimensions by dragging any of its corners.

For split screen, if you have an app already open, the second app will simply open above or below it (depending on where you drop the notification) and occupy half the screen. you may manually adjust how much space an app should take later on using the handle located in the middle of the two apps.

If you don’t already have an app open, a list of apps will surface from which you can select one.

5 Android Features I Use for Seamless Multitasking

Do more at once with your Android phone.

If you have multiple apps opened in pop-up view, all of them will be neatly organized under the same floating bubble so that your screen doesn’t get crowded, and you don’t have to switch back and forth between them.

These multi-window features come in especially handy when you’re, say, taking notes while researching something online, checking out upcoming events and setting reminders, or preparing your to-do list while going over your current tasks. Since stumbling across it, split-screen and pop-up windows have completely changedhow I multitask on my Samsung phone..
