OnePlus 10T 5G: Everything we know so far
OnePlus has changed a lot over the last few years. It moved away from its enthusiast image and has been looking to enter the mass market. In the process, it has diversified its lineup with a lot more entry-level and mid-range devices, and it has shrunk its flagship lineup to just one device, with theOnePlus 10 Protaking the top spot in 2022. This won’t stay that way for long, though. The company has confirmed that the OnePlus 10T will be the nexthigh-end phoneit will release this year, with itslaunch date on August 3, during an event streaming from New York.
OnePlus' move to release a T model is a move back to a familiar strategy the company broke with a few years ago. OnePlus used to release two flagship lineups annually up until 2020, with the T series usually the second, slightly more refined release. The OnePlus 10T could represent just that, though a tiny oddity is left. Since there is only a OnePlus 10 Pro right now, there is no regular OnePlus 10 for the 10T to compare to. And it also does not look like the 10T will be a more advanced version of the 10 Pro. Here’s everything we know about the OnePlus 10T so far.

OnePlus 10T 5G: Design
OnePlus hasshared official imageswith The Verge, giving us an early look at the phone’s appearance before it is introduced on August 3. It looks very similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro in form and shape, complete with a camera array that smoothly curves into the phone’s edge. It also appears to feature the same silky smooth sandstone-like back that the 10 Pro has. The 10T does seem to lose the curved display, for the better or worse.
More interesting than the display change is the lack of OnePlus' trademark physical alert slider, which has been part of the OnePlus flagship experience since forever. The 10 Pro and older models let you change your ringer from silent to vibrate to sound, but the 10T is missing this slider altogether. OnePlus explains that it wanted to do away with it to save more space for other components inside the phone (it does seem to take up a lot of space), and it also seems to serve the structural rigidity of the phone. Still, this feels like the end of an era for OnePlus.

OnePlus 10T 5G: Hardware
As for specifications, these are still in the dark. Thelatest leak suggeststhat the phone should come with a 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD+ OLED with a 32MP selfie camera. On the back, a 50MP primary camera is joined by a 16MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. In contrast to the 10 Pro, the 10T doesn’t carry Hasselblad branding anymore. OnePlus positions this as another cost-cutting measure to enable other features, just like the loss of the alert slider.
Inside, you should find the state-of-the-art Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the fastest Qualcomm processor currently available. This would appear to be a last-minute change, as the company appeared to experiment with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 initially. For RAM and storage, the phone is supposed to be equipped with standard 8 and 12GB RAM with 128 and 256GB storage variants, but there could also be a more advanced 16GB RAM version in some markets.

The rumored 4,800mAh battery is all but confirmed to charge at speeds of up to 150W. This makes it faster than the OnePlus 10 Pro, and that phone’s 80W, but it’s thought the OnePlus 10T won’t have wireless charging. The OnePlus 10T is also rumored to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers. As for software, it’s supposed to run the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12. Then we’d expect to see this phone get OxygenOS 13 at a later date afterAndroid 13is officially released.
OnePlus 10T 5G: Release date, availability, and price
The OnePlus 10T will be revealed in New York on August 3, 2022. OnePlus will livestream the event, so if you’re curious to see what the company has to offer, be sure to tune in. Given that the company has moved its launch event to New York, it’s safe to assume that the 10T will be available in the US. This is also a shift in strategy compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro, which the company initially only launched in China. It was introduced to international markets much later.
As for pricing, we expect the OnePlus 10T to be slightly cheaper than the OnePlus 10 Pro. After all, OnePlus is positioning the new entry to the series as a non-Pro phone, so it would be weird if it charged higher prices than the top-of-the-line alternative. Given the $900 price tag of the 10 Pro, a price ranging from $600 to $800 would seem reasonable.
