In a video interview with the editor of the manga, Anayama, that was shared by X user @sandman_AP, it was confirmed thatOne Piece’s Egghead arc will feature an even bigger eventbefore it ends. Although there are no hints as to what this development could be, there are some good choices and theories floating around. Anayama’s statement was translated on XbyOne Piececontent creator @newworldartur:
“It’s been stated that Egghead would conclude with a major incident. However, there is still one more big twist to it. I won’t say anything else or they’ll erase me lol”

Ever since the start of this arc,One Pieceteased that a “big incident” will happen in Eggheadthat will shake the world to its foundations. Anayama’s statement seems to imply that, before fans get to see that, another impressive and unexpected twist will take place, which is just as exciting as it sounds.
A big part of why the Egghead arc was so good wasthe developments outside the island, so it is very possible that the upcoming event could happen around the world. This is made even more possible given how Vegapunk’s message was played across the world, and the consequences of it could very well very felt already. From Akainu finally taking action or Imu appearing, the possibilities are many, but they are all cataclysmic.
New events might even unfold in Egghead, and major character deaths are very possible, particularly of one of the Five Elders. This would indeed be a big event as stated by Anayama. Furthermore, the fact thatthe Iron Giant was shown to be able to damage Warcuryand make him bleed despite his incredible fortitude possibly means that an Elder will die before the end of the arc. Another major death could be Kizaru, a character whose loyalty to the Navy is under scrutiny and may very well become Luffy’s ally and aid his escape.
Many major events have happened so far in the arc, and as such, there are a limited number of possibilities that could one-up these exciting developments. Only Oda and his editor know what is in store for fans ofOne Piece, but fans should strap in as the series concludes the arc with a bang.
