Summary

Starfield’sSettled Systems contain awide array of unique weaponryfor the Spacefarer to use. Laser rifles, ballistic pistols, and even particle beam shotguns can be found wherever people have settled. And where there are people, there are also heaps of clutter. Much of this clutter is only good for decoration, but some can actually serve an explosive function.

Another of Bethesda’s IPs,Fallout, is no stranger to junk, and wastelanders have decided to make use of it. That’s whyFallout 4’sJunk Jet was made. This mad scientist-created weapon allows the player to recycle any piece of trash into deadly ammunition. If an ostracized engineer could put this together with some hoses and a box of scraps, then surelya spacefaring civilization could create the same.

Companions in Starfield stacked like the Brady Bunch. Sam Coe, Adoring Fan, Vasco, Amelia, Sarah, and Andreja.

All Companions In Starfield & Shattered Space, Ranked Worst To Best

Starfield has 29 different companions to choose from, and some are certainly better than others. Here’s the full list, ranked.

The Junk Jet Could Destroy Enemies With House Plants

A Rare Fallout 4 Weapon

Starfieldhas plenty of clutter items that have not been seen in other Bethesda titles. Unlike recent Bethesda games likeFallout 4andFallout 76, these objects do not have any use beyond being sold. The game seems designed for resources to come from mining or purchasing rather than scrapping. For the Spacefarer who already has it all,a Junk Jet would breathe new lifeinto the trash that fills the game world.

The Junk Jet has some rust on it, but nothing that could not be addressed by a slight redesign. Under that decayed coating is amakeshift cannon covered in exposed wires and hydraulics. This would fit in nicely with the piping and vents that adorn every spaceship inStarfield.

A Laser Weapon with a temple from Starfield in the background

Users ofFallout 3’sRock-It Launcher orFallout 4’sJunk Jet are already aware of the novelty of launching a teddy bear at a raider’s face.Starfieldis missing the stuffed animal, but it has another item in such abundance (including plushies) that some players have taken to hoarding them with succulents. In a universe filled with synthesized Chunks, the Spacefarer could do hostiles a favor by ensuring they get a healthy serving of vegetables.

Exploding Plants Are Even Better Than Regular Plants

Despite its unique ammunition, the Junk Jet has never done considerable damage compared to other weapons in its class. In fact, the closest comparable weapon, the Striker, does more than twice the damage, and that is for something that only launches bowling balls. The Junk Jet is capable of launching 160 lb dumbbells, but they will still do a fraction of the expected damage. If Bethesda introduces the massive gun toStarfield, it will need to add extra oomph.

One way to accomplish this would be to kill two birds with one stone — make its ammo explosive.Starfieldhas a few options when it comes to grenades and mines, but its launcher options are limited. There are two options for the player who likes to blaze the widest paths of destruction: the Bridger and Negotiator. Both of these are grenade launchers, though they are the rocket-propelled variety, despite what their design might suggest. They can, however, act more like grenade launcherswith theHornet’s Nest weapon mod.

7 Most Powerful Weapons To Get First In Starfield

There are extremely strong weapons in Starfield. Some deal high damage, while others have a high rate of fire. Most have mod slots to customize.

AStarfieldJunk Jet could strike with explosive force. While the projectiles it fires do not explode, the weapon’s force would propel the clutter with enough force to cause area-of-effect damage. As made infamous by a conversation fromMass Effect 2, any object moving quickly enough will be able to cause immense destruction.

To accomplish this,Starfieldcould leverage its existing grav drive technology. A miniaturized version of the drive could propel any projectile forward just as it launches a spaceship forward. It would not need to be nearly as powerful as a full-sized engine; this may be possible. Time will tell whetherStarfieldwill soon allow Spacefarers to destroy pirate heads with succulents.
