The announcement post also revealed that the anime will be directed by Ayumu Watanabe, best known for directing series likeKomi Can’t Communicate, Space Brothers, and films likeChildren of the Sea.Kairi Unabara is in charge of the character designs, while the music for the series will be provided by Yuka Kitamura, who has most notably scored the gamesElden RingandDark Souls IIandIII.

Witch Hat Atelier follows Coco, a young aspiring witch forced to give up on her dream until one fateful day when she crosses paths with a male witch named Qifrey. After seeing Qifrey use magic, Coco also attempts to cast a spell which unfortunately turns her mother into stone. Thus begins Covo’s adventure as she attempts to undo the spell. Fortunately, Qifrey takes her on as his apprentice, giving Coco a chance to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a witch.
