Summary

Cobra Kaialready set the bar pretty high with the most badass fight of the series, and I can’t see how season 6 could possibly top it. TheKarate Kidspinoff show has taken the many battles of the movie franchise to a different level, with dozens of high-intensity fights between various characters.Cobra Kaiseason 5 was especially impressive, with fights between some of the most iconic characters ofThe Karate Kid. However, there’s still one more season before the end, and taking the bar any higher may be challenging.

Theend ofCobra Kaiseason 5saw all hell break loose as Johnny Lawrence, Mike Barnes, and Chozen Toguchi headed to Terry Silver’s house to put an end to his reign of terror. Then, back at Cobra Kai dojo, Daniel LaRusso faced off with Silver himself, and all these combined fights were pretty legendary. This might have even been a perfect way to end the series since these were, by far, the most intense battles of the series. However,Cobra Kaistill has season 6 to go, with the global Sekai Taikai tournament meant as the grande finale—can it possibly hold up to Chozen vs. Silver?

Cobra Kai Season 6: Release Date, Cast, Story, Trailer & Everything We Know

Cobra Kai season 5 is not the end of the global hit series. Here’s everything we know so far about when Cobra Kai season 6 will hit Netflix.

Chozen Vs. Terry Silver Was Cobra Kai’s Coolest Fight By Far

Netflix Turned Up The Intensity

While all the fights at the end ofCobra Kaiseason 5 were pretty great, I found Chozen’s battle with Terry Silver to be on an entirely different level. This was the first fight we got with real weapons, and the scene felt just like an epic battle in a classic martial arts movie. Silver had a katana, while Chozen stood ready with a pair of sai, and it was immediately apparent that both fighters were prepared to die if that was what it took.Cobra Kai’s fight choreographers outdid themselves, only topped by the unpredictability of who would come out as victor.

Silver’s later fight with Daniel was pretty great, too, but I feel thatCobra Kai’s crowning jewel at this point in the game is Chozen’s death-defying match.

Cobra Kai Chozen Daniel Johnny SR

The intensity of the Chozen vs. Silver battle was taken higher because these were twoKarate Kidvillains we never thought we would see on screen together. Chozen had been the primary antagonist ofThe Karate Kid Part 2, whileSilver was the big-bad ofThe Karate Kid Part 3. Their facing off was the event I never knew I wanted, and the fact that Chozen was fightingforDaniel and Miyagi’s legacy was highly poetic. Silver’s later fight with Daniel was pretty great, too, but I feel thatCobra Kai’s crowning jewel at this point in the game is Chozen’s death-defying match.

I Desperately Want Another Chozen Battle In Season 6 (But Who Could He Fight?)

Chozen Vs. Johnny Might Not Stack Up

Chozen’s fight with Silver revealed him to be the standout adult fighter of Cobra Kai, and this makes me eager to see more from his character in the show’s final season. He was willing to sacrifice his life for Daniel’s honor, and the fact that he would have won had Silver not played dirty means Chozen should get another chance. However, I can’t imaginewho, aside from Silver, could be a worthy opponent for Chozen inCobra Kaiseason 6.

The first part ofCobra Kaiseason 6 streams on Netflix on August 18, 2025, with part 2 following on June 03, 2025, and part 3 arriving sometime near the beginning of 2025.

Cobra Kai Season 6s Closure For Villains Turned Heroes Johnny and Chozen Addressed By Stars

The trailer for the Netflix series' final installment has teased afight between Chozen and Johnny Lawrence, which intrigues me. Like Silver, Johnny is anotherKarate Kidvillain,so a match between the pair would carry a similar poetry to the big season 5 moment. However, Johnny and Chozen are friendly inCobra Kai, anda match between them would be tournament style and far less high stakes. Sure, it will be fun, but it can’t possibly match the intensity of the moment Netflix created inCobra Kaiseason 5.

Cobra Kai Season 6’s Sekai Taikai Is Facing A Very High Bar

Cobra Kai Might Have Gone Too Hard With Season 5

Cobra Kaihas spent a great deal of time setting up the Sekai Taikai. It’s the series' answer to the decreasing intensity of the All-Valley tournament since audiences have been watching characters participate in this event since 1984. The bar had to be raised, and taking the students ofCobra Kaito a global tournament in which the best fighters in the world compete certainly makes sense. However, by making the ending of season 5 an intense, high-stakes free-for-all, Netflix really fought against itself here.

I’m certainly eager to see the Sekai Taikai play out, butan organized tournament will have a hard time stacking up against the bloody battle of the previous series. It could be thatCobra Kaihas simply set the bar far too high, and the fact that adult fighters like Chozen, Johnny, and Daniel can’t compete in the Sekai Taikai also puts a damper on things. TheKarate Kidspinoff serieswill need a different way to give Chozen and his fellows a chance to show audiences what they are made of one last time. They may not top theirCobra Kaiseason 5 battles, but it would still be worth the watch.
