How to Test Out Aria: Opera’s Built-In Browser AI Tool
Fans of Opera have been greeted with the prospect of integrated AI tools for some time now. But with the latest update comes the first fully functional AI tool created for Opera, and it’s called Aria.This project is the result of several months of collaboration between the Opera team and OpenAI, and it’s supposedly superior to ChatGPT in several ways. And the best part? You can test out the new tool already.
What Is Aria?
Earlier in 2023, Opera released an update that allowed dedicatedintegration of ChatGPT into its sidebar, together with another feature called AI Prompt.
Aria is the next step in Opera’s evolution towards a more AI-friendly browser, and it reportedly has all of ChatGPT’s pros, without any cons. It’s completely free, and unlike ChatGPT which is limited to content before 2021, Aria is connected to the internet. Thus, it can access to the latest information from just about any domain.
Aria currently interfaces with the user via a chat window, but the long-term goal of the project is to completely integrate it into the Opera experience, to the point where Aria might even allow you to perform cross-browser tasks, similarly tohow Opera Flow works.
How to Use and Test Out Opera’s Aria AI
Unfortunately, neither Opera nor Opera GX currently has the architecture required to efficiently support more advanced generative AI features. That is why Aria is only available (as of now at least), onOpera One–the latest web browser from Opera Norway.
Desktop users can test out Aria by simply downloading thelatest version of Opera One. Android users can test Aria by installing the latestbeta version of Operafrom the Google Play Store. To access Aria, desktop users will just have to activate it from the browser’s sidebar, while Android users will have to activate it from the settings menu.
Since Aria is still in active development, only those who create an Opera account can use it. Just create an account, and wait for an email to receive confirmation that you’ve been approved to test out the product. Giving actual feedback is unnecessary, although it will help polish out the product faster and more efficiently.
Opera’s Aria Is the Next Step in AI and Browser Integration
Those of you who are familiar with AI chat tools will find Aria’s interface to be easy to understand. More so, the fact that it’s connected to the internet and has access to all the latest news and information makes it superior to most other AI tools, thus making Aria a worthy alternative to ChatGPT.
