While Spotify boasts its popular Wrapped summary every year, there are other ways to visualize your listening habits on the streaming service. This includes making a Spotify pie chart with your listening data using a third-party tool.
How to Create Your Spotify Pie Chart
Darren Huang, a US-based Computer Science student, developed a website called Spotify Pie. It uses your Spotify data and visualizes your listening stats with a pie chart.
To create your own pie chart on the site, follow these steps:

You should now be able to see a colorful pie chart with each slice representing the different genres of music you listen to, including alt z, pop, post-grunge, and more. Along with that, your top artists are listed below the pie chart in the order of most-listened to.
If you’d like to spin the pie chart, simply tap or click it. Once you’ve viewed your Spotify pie chart, you can also share it to your social media accounts by tapping theDownload Spotify Piebutton located below the pie chart.

you’re able to nowshare it on your Instagram story, create a TikTok videousing it, or share it on any social media app of your choice.
Is Creating a Spotify Pie Chart Safe?
While you may see many people on Instagram quickly hop on the bandwagon of sharing their Spotify pie chart, you shouldn’t be so quick to create yours just because a website has gone viral.
Darren Huang’s website is not owned by or affiliated with Spotify and is a third-party tool that relies on your listening history. The website’s Privacy Policystates that it only uses a limited set of data to generate your Spotify pie chart, including your Spotify username and the top twenty artists you’ve been listening to.

When requesting access to your account, along with your Spotify username and listening history, the website also gets access to your email address, profile picture, the number of followers you have on Spotify, and your public playlists. This ultimately means that the website collects more data than outlined in its Privacy Policy.
The site’s Privacy Policy states: “As we do not use servers to store your data, your data is deleted from your web browser memory once you close our Web Application.”

However, there is always a risk of data leaks when using third-party tools.
Fortunately, you can revoke third-party app access to Spotify by heading toSpotify’s websiteand logging in with your credentials.

Click yourprofile picturein the top right corner of the screen and selectAccountfrom the drop-down menu. Now, keep scrolling until you findManage appsunder theSecurity and privacyheader.
You should now be able to see a list of all the apps that can access your Spotify account. To revoke Music Pie Chart’s access to your Spotify account, simply clickRemove Accessnext toMusic Pie Chart. While the website is called Spotify Pie, the service that gets access to your account is called Music Pie Chart.
At the end of the day, while using Darren Huang’s website to view your Spotify statistics is undeniably fun, you could be putting your data at risk.
Additionally, by logging in, you agree to receive occasional emails about new service features rolled out by the website. So, if you’re not a fan of spam emails showing up in your inbox sporadically, it might be a good idea to skip this tool.
While there haven’t been any confirmed reports of people losing their accounts due to this service, it’s often better to be safe than sorry, since there’s always the risk of your login credentials being potentially compromised.
