You might have to cancel in a browser
You can’t manage or cancel a Spotify account from any device. Except for the Android app, you must cancel the account from the account management page in a web browser. Your premium Spotify account ends on the date displayed on the final page and reverts to a free account. Spotify asks why you ended your subscription, and you don’t have to answer.

If you want to delete your Premium account from the outset, contact customer supportand request an account deletion. As with any customer service request, there’s no telling how long this will take, so downgrade to a free account and then delete the free account.

After closing your premium plan, you have an active, ad-supported, free Spotify account. Leaving the free account open might not seem harmful. It could be a minor security risk if you don’t plan to use the service. According to theprivacy policy, Spotify keeps user information “as long as necessary to provide you with the Spotify Service and for Spotify’s legitimate and essential business purposes.” This means the data associated with your Spotify account can be kept on hand forever as long as Spotify can justify it as a legitimate business use.

If you’re privacy-minded, close your free Spotify account after canceling the Premium subscription.
