Now, the slasher sequel has officially found its first cast members. According toThe Hollywood Reporter,theI Know What You Did Last Summerreboot has cast Camila Mendes,Madelyn Cline,Jonah Hauer-King,Sarah Pidgeon, and Tyriq Withers. Hewitt and Prinze are also in talks to reprise their roles from the original movie.

They starred in 1997’sI Know What You Did Last Summeras Julie James and Ray Bronson, two of the friends stalked by the hook-wielding killer and, after surviving, returned for the 1998 sequel,I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. A direct-to-video sequel,I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, was released in 2006 without any of the original cast.

For its new younger stars, the upcoming reboot has cast Mendes, known asVeronica Lodge fromRiverdale, and Cline, who currently playsSarah Cameron onOuter Banks.Both Mendes and Cline are stars from teen drama series, so they should be able to make a seamless transition toI Know What You Did Last Summer, a teen slasher.
