Summary
There may be a drastic change toHonkai: Star Rail’s traditional gameplay, according to new Version 2.5 leaks that have started circulating. Version 2.5 is still a few weeks away, as the popular turn-based RPG is still entering Version 2.4. In the current patch, players will return to the Xianzhou Alliance and witness a new story arc, as well as gain access to thenew characters ofHonkai: Star Rail2.4, Yunli, Jiaoqiu, and March 7th (Hunt). With Version 2.5’s beta tests occurring, however, some details about the upcoming patch have already started emerging.
One of these leaks indicates a change to combat. According to new information provided by the leaker known as Dim, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit, two new Planar Ornament sets will be introduced in Version 2.5. One set, The Wondrous BananAmusement Park, will increase CRIT DMG based on whether a target is summoned on the field, whereas the second, Lushaka, the Sunken Seas, will grant an Effect RES boost, as well as an ATK boost to an ally. The secret change lies in the second leaked Ornament set inHonkai: Star Rail2.5.

Honkai: Star Rail’s Fate Collab Can Fix Genshin Impact’s Biggest Blunder
Honkai: Star Rail will receive a collab event with Fate/stay night in late 2025 and it could fix one of the biggest mistakes with Genshin Impact.
New Ornament Set May Change Team Comp Structures In Honkai: Star Rail
The Rumored Ornament Grants Bonuses Based On The User’s Position
As seen in the leak, the rumored Lushaka, the Sunken Seas Ornament set will allegedly granta 16% ATK bonus to the first character in the team lineup if the character wearing the equipment is not the first character themselves. Based on the description alone and the extra 10% Effect RES boost, this will most likely be an Ornament set dedicated exclusively to support characters. It does, however, indicate a big change. For now, the order of characters inHonkai: Star Railteam comps does not matter too much.
“Future characters could have position-related bonuses.”

Often, players tend to leave the characters that are more susceptible to enemy attention near the extremities. By doing so, if the character is hit by an attack that deals damage to adjacent targets, it will only affect one additional ally rather than two. That is, however, the only real reason to think about the order in which characters are placed in team structures for now. This may change soon with the arrival of the leaked Ornament set inHonkai: Star Rail2.5.
If the leak is true, then players may have to start worrying about not using certain characters in certain team comp positions. A character wielding this rumored Lushaka, the Sunken Seas set may be forced to put the character in the second, third, or fourth position if they want to unlock their full potential during combat. Of course, while the immediate change with the rumored Ornament set seems minimal, it may have huge implications. In fact, another leak shared onRedditshows that more upcoming characters may start having position-specific benefits.
If this is true, this will add a whole new layer of strategic thinking when building team comps inHonkai: Star Rail, going beyond just the optimization of skills, but how parties present themselves in battle.
Both the leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. However, not only is Dim a reliable leaker, but this type of order mechanic in team comps is quite frequently a staple in turn-based RPGs. This could be a new way of maintaining combat fresh, without having to rely solely on the creation of new abilities, per si. For now, players may want to focus on optimizingYunli’s build inHonkai: Star Rail, as she is the first new 5-star unit in Version 2.4.
