Green Lantern lore makes a shocking change to its lore by revealing what the Corps’ new leader is actually looking for in new recruits.

Nathan became a Sorrow Lantern after Carol left him at the altar to be with Hal Jordan. WhileStar Sapphire is fueled by love, Nathan has sworn off love because of her. Through his heartbreak,Sorrow Lantern forces his emotions onto Star Sapphire so that she can feel the same sorrow she inflicted on him. Star Sapphire’s love for Hal is stronger, though, and she overpowers Sorrow Lantern with that love.
