Speaking toPhase Hero,Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, confirmed that Foggy Nelson and Karen Page will be back forDaredevil: Born Againseason 2.
The MCU executive refused to elaborate on that, not revealing how Foggy could come back after dying in episode 1. Woll’s return as Karen Page forDaredevil: Born Againseason 2had already been confirmed by the actress on the red carpet for the show’s premiere, calling the scripts for the second season of the MCU series “amazing.” It remains to be seen if either character will appear again in season 1.

Foggy’s death is the major event that sets in motion Matt Murdock’s storyline forDaredevil: Born Again. The series had a 1-year time jump after the death, showing how it impacted Matt and Karen. She is now living in San Francisco, and they do not talk, with Matt fully giving up being Daredevil and shrouded in darkness and guilt. With the reveal that Foggy will be back forDaredevil: Born Againseason 2,there could be a way for the MCU series to bring him back to life.

In Marvel Comics, Foggy had a fake-out death, as he was believed to have been beaten to death by prison inmates, only to be alive and taken care of by the FBI. The MCU could pull off a similar move, as Matt Murdock also believed Foggy was dead in the comics, only to be surprised when he came back. Alternatively, Foggy could remain dead, with Elden Henson returning as his Marvel character for flashbacks. The Character Needs To Be Present In The MCU Series
Foggy is too important a character to only be part of the first 15 minutes or so ofDaredevil: Born Again. His chemistry with Matt and Karen wasone of the main factors behind the success of Netflix’sDaredevil. That is why I’m excited about Foggy’s confirmedDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 return. While I would love to see Marvel find a way to have him alive again and make it satisfying within the story season 1 is telling, I think flashbacks that connect with the present-day storyline might make more sense forDaredevil: Born Again.
