Summary

The Mojave Wasteland can be a quiet place and even thoughFallout: New Vegasprovides The Courier with some followers for theirtrek across the desert, the journey would be more pleasant if everyone could just chat. One of the most popular aspects ofNew Vegasare the game’s companions, each of whom sports a unique personality and fun quirks that make them pillars of the experience. Whether Boone’s out in front dealing damage or Cass is chastizing players for the choice of drink, they bring a great deal of life to such a barren world.

Over on Nexus Mods, userCraftianshared their excellent “Party Banter” mod which does exactly what one might expect by making companions more sociable with one another. The mod features 200 lines that have been stitched together from existing dialogueto ensure that followers can idly chat while they follow The Courier to their next objective. The only pre-requisite for enjoying the mod is an additional add-on that allows for multiple companions to join the party given that the vanilla version ofNew Vegasonly allows one human follower at a time.

An Underappreciated Fallout: New Vegas NPC Could Be The Key To Fallout 4’s Biggest Mystery

Fallout 4’s Glowing Sea remains a bit of a mystery to players, but an NPC from Fallout: New Vegas and other older Fallout games may have the answer.

Who Is Fallout: New Vegas' Best Companion?

There’s No Clear Cut Answer

The question ofNew Vegas' best companion is one that’s been debated by the community ever since the game launched over a decade ago and the answer is all about personal preference. There’s no follower that’s objectively better than another (unless combat effectiveness is the criteria, in which case Boone wins every time) and they all bring something unique to the table. Arguably the least interesting companion is ED-E, given that it’s just a repurposed Enclave Eyebot with next to no personality but even then, its laser packs a punch in the early game.

Lily is undoubtedlyNew Vegas' quirkiest companion given that she’s constantly suppressing a dark alter egoand while that’s certainly a fun dynamic, her dialogue and zany attitude may grate some players. As mentioned above, those players who want to feel nearly overpowered inNew Vegasshould recruit Craig Boone as soon as possible. The former NCR ranger is lethal with a rifle and often eliminates threats before they get close to the Courier which, admittedly, does take some of the fun out of combat.
