EA Sports College Football 25 Road To Glory Mode Explained
EA Sports recently gave an in-depth look into the newest game mode for College Football 25, Road to Glory, which gives players an RPG-like experience.
How To Use & Equip Mental Abilities
Assign Your Athlete With Limited Specialties
You either getthree Mental Abilities at a time with custom charactersor apre-assigned set of abilities if you’re playing with a standard team roster. A standard roster just includes the players normally playing on a team that you would see in multiplayer modes. This could include defensive giants oroffensive powerhouse rosters inCollege Football 25, but your customization for Mental Abilities would be limited.
Not every custom character is restricted to just three Mental Abilities though, asBlue Chip and Elite prospect athletes can have more Abilitiesassigned. This does come at a sacrifice to other traits and stats, so be careful when choosing this route. Recruiting prospects can be a tricky process, as everyone has different Attributes, Development Traits, and Physical Abilities on top of the Mental ones.

Another tough part of the recruiting process is thePipeline system inCollege Football 25, which restricts how well players you can add to your team can do based on how close they are to a certain region.
To assign Mental Abilities, head to the Recruiting Board for whatever team you’ve chosen to guide through Road to Glory mode. From available prospects, you’re able to add players to your team andgo to the far right of their athlete cardto see the section labeled"Mentals.“You can go into the pre-assigned Abilities and change them to others available within the game depending on how you want to adjust that player’s focus.

How To Upgrade Mental Abilities
Go Through Four Scales Of Ability Grading
Each Mental Abilityhas four different levels of powerthatincrease as they are used in games by specific players. For example, a player with the Road Dog Mental Ability can have it upgraded from a Bronze trait into a Silver trait if they keep using it game after game. Mental Abilities start at Bronze before increasing to Silver, then Gold, and finally Platinum inCollege Football 25.
Every tier of Mental Ability does something drastically different from one another, making some traits worth upgrading based solely on their Platinum effect. You’ll want to study the relationship between the best trait of a Mental Ability and an athlete’s stats to see if the result is worth the effort. It will take several games throughout the season to improve Mental Abilities to their strongest state, making them an investment.

Since Mental Abilities are passive, it can be hard to see their effect during games until you reach their Gold or Platinum quality. Make sure to pay attention to the Composure stat before games, as many of these Abilities impact this score directly. Some abilities are specific to certain positions on the field as well, such as the Kicker or Linebacker, sodon’t assign Abilities to athletes they won’t affect.
