International fast food restaurant,McDonald’s, introduces a “Special Grade” garlic sauce on Tuesday, July 9, inspired by the popular manga and anime series,Jujutsu Kaisen. The sauce, available only until supplies last, is described as sweet and tangy, with a garlic and soy sauce flavor profile, and each container will include one of eight characters from the hit series, including Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and the villainous Sukuna.

Named after the strongest and deadliest Cursed Spirits that plague the world ofJujutsu Kaisen, this new, limited-edition sauce is not the only reason why fans of the anime should be interested.

The 2018 manga and 2020Jujutsu Kaisenanime series are a global phenomenon, yielding brand collaborations such as this one with McDonald’s, inspiring a tribute song onMegan thee Stallion’s new album, and earning over 10 awards at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, including Anime of the Year. Gege Akutami’sJujutsu Kaisenfollows the exploits of a squad ofsorcerers who battle and exorcise spirits born from cursed energy. This is not the popular restaurant’s first time dabbling in the anime genre.
