Usually, Amazon announces the date forAmazon Prime Dayin late April or early May, but this year the online shopping titan decided to keep us guessing months longer than normal. At long last, we can now share the official dates for Prime Day 2023:July 11-12will be the 48-hour deal-dropping bonanza. If you remember last year’s event, Amazon is using the same second Tuesday and Wednesday in July, so these dates aren’t exactly unexpected.

That’s right, folks, they’re giving you the date less than a month out from the actual event, but that’s okay! We’ve been doing all the prep work for weeks already for you, getting together our guides on what deals you can expect — or in many cases can already take advantage of — in every Android or Google-related category. From thebest Prime Day phone dealsto tablet deals tosmart home dealsand beyond, we’ve got the guides to get you primed and prepped before prices everywhere start dropping.

Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime

Of course, like Black Friday, Prime Day is no longer just a two-day event. Noooo, Amazon Prime Day deals officially kick off today. This means that fromPrime Day Chromebook dealsto smartwatch deals to gads and gads ofearly Prime Day earbuds and headphone deals, discounts and sales are starting to ramp up. We’ll continue digging through them to bring you the best — and warn you away from DINOs (deals in name only) — and in the meantime, keep your eyes on our roundups, likebest early Prime Day tablet deals, for the best deals available right now and the prices we’re still expecting to come for popular items based on past sales and upcoming events.

For example, the upcomingGalaxy Watch 6which is likely launching the last week of July is a good omen forexcellent smartwatch dealsfor the Galaxy Watch 5. We don’t expect you to keep all these release dates and histories in your head, but that’s why writers like me exist. While you wait for Prime Day to roll around, we’ve listed some of the best early deals spotted on Amazon in recent weeks. These aren’t strictly Prime Day deals, but you may find something you’re looking for ahead of the big event.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The best non-folding phone Samsung has ever made is finally starting to consistently see deep discounts. While the S22 Ultra may be down to $700, the S23 Ultra’s improved thermal and processing performance from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and subtly refined exterior design make it worth getting the latest and greatest.

OnePlus 11

Although the design won’t be for everyone, the OnePlus 11 is the company’s best phone in years, combining excellent specs, incredible battery life, and a competent camera system. (And bringing back the alert slider!) You can take $100 off the beefier 12GB/256GB models right now, essentially a free memory and storage upgrade to give you more space for games and more RAM for multitasking.

Google Pixel 6a

While the Google Pixel 7a may be the shiny new hotness, that $500 price tag doesn’t scream “budget phone” at all. Last year’s Pixel 6a may have slightly older cameras and the first-gen Tensor processor, but it’s $200 less and still offers that sleek Pixel experience.

Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 3

Bluetooth speaker deals are in something of a lull right now, but it’s within $10 of its lowest price ever and remains an absolutelywonderful speaker (yes, yes, I deserve to be booed for that). Whether it be your summer pool parties, fishing trips, tubing excursions, or lazy summer afternoon sing-alongs, the Wonderboom 3 is a sweet softball-sized floating speaker to bring the beat.

Bose 700 Wireless Headphones

With a sleek redesign, best-in-class ANC, and a battery life of 20 hours, the Bose 700 are an excellent choice for premium sound and minimal distraction in a stylish and comfortable package. These dropped to $270 last Black Friday, but even $300 is an excellent price to see it at after months of bobbing between $380 and $330.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 3i (Gen 8, 12.2")

Compact Chromebooks have been using the same 1366x768-pixel 11.6-inch screen with those gigantic bezels for a literal decade now, but Lenovo is finally bringing us up to a 12.2-inch 1080p touchscreen! This is also the first discount we’ve seen since the Gen 8 launched earlier this June, so for travel or for your kid’s homework, this is a snazzy new Chromebook with a big quality-of-life bump.

Anker 313 USB-C 45W Charger

This smaller-than-a-golf-ball Power Delivery Charger isn’t some piddly little phone-only charger. 45W is full speed for Chromebooks and many Windows laptops, and will even charge more powerful laptops like MacBook Pros and gaming laptops — albeit not while in full, fan-melting use. $21 for a solid 45W charger from Anker that fits in a mini purse is nothing less than a steal.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic

The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic isn’t the newest or shiniest toy on the block, but it’s still a fantastic smartwatch, and you can usually find it for a solid price, especially on Prime Day. We’ve seen this watch drop as low as $199, which it currently sits at on Amazon. It typically retails for $380, so it’s already available at a solid price.
