Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call. As per a statement from the Knox County District Attorney’s Office, the victim informed officers thatGeoffrey had grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head against the wallseveral times. She was also thrown to the ground and dragged. Geoffrey took his ex’s cell phone and didn’t allow her to leave the house. She was finally able to escape to a neighbor’s house when he fell asleep.

Geoffrey claimed that Kristen’s bruises were self-inflicted. She had a large, raised bruise on her forehead. There were bruises and abrasions on her back, arms, and the inside of her lip. She was also diagnosed with a concussion. The jury found Geoffrey to beguilty of aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls charges.Geoffrey was sentenced to 18 years in prison on June 10, 2025. He ended up filing for an official appeal on August 10, 2025. His appeal was denied in September 2023.

Varya wasliving in one of Geroffrey’s houses in Pensacola, Florida for 10 months. She also got a driver’s license in June 2021. In November 2021, Varya decided to help Geoffrey sell the Florida home ahead of Geoffrey’s sentencing. After putting the home on the market,Varyamoved to Knoxville. She began living in Geoffrey’s house and started taking care of his two dogs. Varya is also helping manage several of Geoffrey’s rental properties while he is still in prison.
