Jared was new to the size of superyacht that St. David was, having worked with smaller vessels in the past, which he attributed to the mistakes he was making throughout the earliest moments of the season. Scatter-brained,Jared often gave the Captain the wrong instructions and made some dangerous mistakes, narrowly avoiding hitting the dock. After Jared’s antics with the rest of the crew while drinking left them uncomfortable, he was let go from the superyacht early in the charter season.

Embroiled in a feud with her Third Stew Bri Muller,Ellie has been trying to assert her dominance over Bri throughout the charter season. With some lingering hurt feelings because Bri hooked up with her potential boatmance, Deckhand Joe Bradley, Ellie has done everything possible to show Bri she’s wrong throughout the charter season. Rather than relying on her professionalism, Ellie has been indulging in poor behavior that has left her performance lacking, with tasks falling to the wayside in favor of making Bri look bad.

Although Bri’s time onBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9 has been plagued by Ellie lording her dominance over her head, the Third Stew hasn’t been working up to the Mustique standard, either.Bri, who only has three years of experience in the yachting industry,admitted early on in the charter season that she’s never completed a charter seasonsuccessfully. Regardless of her struggles with Ellie, Bri’s skills have been far below the standard for her role.
Bri has been having a tough timewith laundry throughout the charter season, to the point that it’s almost laughable how frustratingly poor she is in keeping track of the crew and charter guests’ clothes. Trying to set up a system for herself, Bri has been logging information about the laundry in a notebook that has come back to bite her, after Chief Stew Aesha Scott found it and confused it with a burn book of sorts. WhileBri’s capabilities have been called into question, her immature attitude is likely what she’ll be remembered for.
4Johnathan Shillingford
Another member of theBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 9 cast who has been struggling with their performance is Chef Johnathan Shillingford, who struggled early on in the charter season. Johnathan, who goes by Chef Jono to the rest of the crew, may be capable when it comes to some styles of cooking, but taking feedback isn’t his forte. Throughout the first charters of the season,Jono got feedback about his meals from guests and Captain Sandy herself, but struggled to improve.
While there has been some improvement during the second stretch of the season,Jono’s poor behavior wasn’t limited to the galley. After a disastrous first charter that was missing provisions but saw the exterior team doing well,things have been impossible for Iain to deal with. Whether it’s dangerous mistakes being made because of his lack of consideration when he makes calls to the rest of his team orthe wrong choice of a Lead Deckhand, Iain has made mistakes throughoutBelow Deck Medseason 9. While he understands he’s under fire, Iain doesn’t appear to realize he’s been making errors aboard Mustique, which makes him one of the most irritating cast members to watch.

Below Deck Mediterraneanseason 6’s Chef Matthew Sheais one of the most difficult people Captain Sandy has ever worked with, and watching him during the charter season, it’s clear as to why. While Matthew was a decent chef, his inability to stay stable and work consistently throughout the season was tough for the rest of the crew to deal with.Matthew walked away from Lady Michelle more than onceduring the season, sometimes for valid reasons and sometimes for ridiculous ones.
Matthew had some incredibly tense moments with the rest of Lady Michelle’s crew, which proved too much for anyone on the superyacht to handle. WhileCaptain Sandy did her best to mediate between the chef and the rest of the crew, she ultimately had enough of Matthew’s behavior. Though he’s called her one of the worst Captains he’s ever worked with professionally, Matthew was just as tough for the Captain and crew to handle.
1Anthony Iracane
Below Deckseason 11’s Chef Anthony Iracane seemed like a wonderful person, so his poor performance was difficult to watch as it grew worse and worse throughout the charter season. Chef Anthony struggled with his own disability,explaining that his dyslexia made it difficult for him to keep himself organized in the galleyand read through charter guests’ preferences quickly. Though he began the season working wonderfully with the rest of the crew, Anthony’s downward spiral was a quick one.
Anthony’s performance in the galleywent from bad to worse as he worked through the charter season and began to get frustrated with the mistakes he was making day after day. Though the rest of the crew wanted Anthony to be successful on the charter, he didn’t get much help from the interior team throughout the season. WhenAnthony’s dishes began to cost the crew tipsand get complaints fromBelow Deckcharter guests, Captain Kerry had to let him go.
